Confidence in the count is the foundation of everything else. If people cannot trust that every legal vote is counted, and counted once, then every other fight on this page is settled before it starts.
We support voter identification at the polls, accurate and regularly audited voter rolls, transparent handling and chain of custody for mail ballots, and the right of citizen observers to watch every stage of the process. None of that is exotic and none of it is partisan: it is the ordinary bookkeeping any organization would apply to a decision that matters.
